Local Association Matching Grant
This grant helps Local Associations and Student Chapters across Colorado support teacher education and professional growth, while promoting music in their communities.
Applications are due by October 1 every year.
Across the Divide Grant
Planning to attend the annual CSMTA conference but have a long trip ahead? This grant encourages members who travel at least 450 miles roundtrip by reimbursing mileage at the IRS business rate for groups of 4 or more. It’s a great way to make the journey easier!
Apply by November 1 each year.
National Conference Registration Fee Assistance Grant
If you’ve recently graduated from college and want to attend the national MTNA conference, this grant can help with your registration fees.

CSMTA Awards
Teacher of the Year Award
We celebrate outstanding teachers who are Nationally Certified Music Teachers in Colorado.
Local Associations nominate their best educators, and the award is presented at the Local Association Luncheon. Forms are due by May 12, 2025—please send them to the current President-elect.
Local Association of the Year
This award honors a Local Association that stands out for excellence and professionalism, serving as a model for others. For more info, contact the current VP for Local Associations.
Other Funding Opportunities for CSMTA Teachers and Students
Disaster Relief Fund
Established in January 2022, this fund supports teachers and students affected by natural disasters, starting with help for those impacted by the Marshall Fire.
Memorial Fund
This fund provides financial support for teacher education and student expenses like auditions and travel for CSMTA/MTNA events. You can support these funds by donating.
